SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson have officially signed a lease today for Stage Works, a new space aimed at supporting creative productions, events and multimedia development.

The agreement marks a major step forward in Jackson’s continued expansion into entertainment infrastructure and production investment, the mayor's office said Friday in a news release.

While rehearsing overseas in Germany, Jackson jumped off stage and FaceTimed Arceneaux to witness the signing live.

“Shreveport has shown me nothing but love, and I’m proud to make this partnership official. Stage Works is the next phase, we’re building a hub for creativity, opportunity, and next-level content right here in Louisiana," Jackson said in a statement in the release.
