AUSTIN (KXAN) – The Old Bakery and Emporium will hold its fourth annual midsummer festival, celebrating Swedish-American culture in Austin on Saturday.

The Swedish holiday is called Midsommar, and it celebrates the Summer Solstice—the longest day of the year.

The Office of Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment (ACME) is hosting the free event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., promising family-friendly fun for everyone. The Old Bakery and Emporium is located at 1001 Congress Ave.

According to ACME, the festival includes a flower crown-making station, face painting, DJ Boozwa and live music by The Norrsken Three—a local Austin band. The Swedish word “Norrsken” means Northern Lights. The band explores a variety of Swedish and Scandinavian songs.
