KEARNEY, Neb. — A Gibbon man faces multiple drug and weapons charges after Kearney Police located multiple drugs and a firearm inside his vehicle during a traffic stop Thursday.

Steven Onate, 29, is charged in Buffalo County Court with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of hydrocodone, possession of a firearm while committing a drug crime, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and prohibited person in possession of a deadly weapon.

According to an arrest affidavit, around 3 p.m. Thursday, a Kearney Police officer stopped a Buick SUV driven by Onate for a traffic violation neat 27th Street and Grand Avenue.
