CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - One person is reported dead following a crash in Cherokee County.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) stated that, on June 5, troopers were called out to Boiling Springs Highway near the intersection with Grassy Pine Road, 5 miles north of Gaffney. Authorities said that at 6:14 p.m., a 2013 Ford Sedan was traveling east on Grassy Pine Road, when a 2014 Ford pickup truck hit the Sedan at the intersection.
Officers said that the driver and a passenger in the Sedan were injured in the crash. The two victims were transported to Cherokee Medical Center, where the passenger succumbed to their injuries. Their identity has not been revealed at this time.
The driver of the pickup truck, who was the sole occupant, was reported to be uninjured.
