BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The boy who has been collecting food for his pantry for the past two years, says he gets it from watching his pops.

"It just warms my heart when I see my dad do it and I want to be just like him, so I'm starting when I'm at a young age," said Patrick.

Patrick's dad, Oscar, is the operations manager at St. Vincent de Paul Homeless Center. He says one day, he brought young Patrick along to help.

"I realized they were running low when I was helping my dad put away canned foods, bottled water and healthy snacks," said Patrick. "I asked my dad, 'What can I do to help?"

"On the way home he said, 'hey dad, how are we going to feed everyone?'," said Oscar. "It caught me because he used the word 'we.' Right away I thought there's something special in this kid. I sa
