WILBRAHAM, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The annual Run for Rice’s 5k road race is set to get underway, rain or shine, Saturday morning in Wilbraham.

The annual family-friendly event begins at Christ the King Epiphany Church on Main Street at 9 a.m. The course winds through several neighborhoods and ends at Rice’s Fruit Farm across the street from the start.

All runners will get a free Rice Fruit Farm ice cream with their bib number on the day of the racev and some may even win a cash prize, which will be awarded in several categories.

Race director Bobby Olsen told us there’s already hundreds of people ready to hit the starting line. “As of this morning, we had 225 registered runners and we expect to get more tomorrow,” he said. “We have a lot of people from surrounding towns as well and we are one
