AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — On Wednesday, the Amarillo Fire Department was called to a fire in west Amarillo that damaged one home.

AFD said its crews were called to the 3500 block of Concord Road on a structure fire. Arriving crews reported heavy fire conditions at the garage and rear corner of a home

AFD said it responded with six apparatus and 18 personnel. The fire was suppressed, the structure ventilated, and an extensive overhaul was conducted to ensure no remaining hot spots.

Officials said a dog was found inside the home during a search and taken outside by firefighters, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
