LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - In July 2024, Mayor Craig Greenberg announced the creation of Louisville’s first Department of Transportation. This week, the mayor announced Bill Bell would be the first person to lead that department as director.
Bell, a Louisville native, spent the last 10 years working in the field at the state level, for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, or KYTC. He begins his new role within Metro Louisville this summer.
“Communication, that’s immediate,” said Bell regarding what he plans to tackle first. “We need to improve communication within the organization as well as with residents. We’ll be talking with the residents in these communities and seeing what they’re seeing.”
