The Colorado Avalanche announced winger Logan O'Connor underwent successful hip surgery Friday and is expected to miss 5-6 months. That timeline would mean he's likely to miss the start of next season.
O'Connor, 28, is no stranger to hip surgeries, unfortunately. He underwent a similar procedure in March 2024 that kept him out for a similar timeframe. It's unclear if this surgery was performed on the same hip.
The speedy winger is coming off his least productive offensive season since becoming a full-time NHL player, as he picked up 21 points in 80 games. He more than made up for that in the postseason, though. There's an argument to be made O'Connor was Colorado's most consistent forward in the first round against the Dallas Stars, as he picked up six points in seven games.
