Oregon board rejects another attempt to block Portland's first Live Nation venue

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Another attempt to stop the construction of Portland’s first Live Nation venue has been rejected.

As first reported by Willamette Week, the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals upheld Portland City Council’s previous decision to deny an appeal involving the proposed concert space on Southeast Water Avenue between Salmon Street and Main Street.

Filed by Double Tee Concerts, the appeal argued the venue would exacerbate pre-existing safety risks like vehicle collisions and “dangerous behavior” from impaired people. In response, LUBA said the city determined these potential threats would not be due to the site and therefore would not worsen with its construction.
