UPDATE: A verdict has been reached in the trial of a former Dayton City Schools teacher who was charged with rape and sexual battery in 2021.
Michael Arnold was originally charged with one count of child rape and four counts of aggravated sexual battery when he was arrested on April 7, 2021.
Court records show that for one of the sexual battery counts, Arnold was convicted of a misdemeanor assault, which is a lesser charge.
Arnold was found not guilty on the three remaining aggravated sexual battery charges as well as the charge of child rape.
The verdict was reached on Thursday, June 5.
