BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A Binghamton man is taking the next step in his faith this weekend by becoming a religious leader.
26-year-old Joseph Ryan is being ordained into the priesthood on Saturday morning at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Downtown Syracuse.
Ryan, a graduate of Seton Catholic Central, is the son of Thomas Ryan and Susan Ryan. He was baptized at St. John in Newark Valley and received First Communion and Confirmation at St. Bartholomew in Cape Elizabeth, ME.
Ryan attended Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., before transferring to St. John’s University/Cathedral Seminary House of Formation in Douglaston. He later spent his Pastoral Year at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Baldwinsville before completing his theological studies in the spring o
