LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The attorney general recently said the FCPS school board’s vote to increase taxes was “unlawful and void.”

Now, Auditor Allison Ball may review their finances.

The state auditor sent WKYT a statement Friday morning. In it, Allison Ball said she’s heard from parents, and she’s reviewing their concerns to determine her next steps. Ball’s office is already auditing the Kentucky Department of Education and the Jefferson County Public School system. The Fayette County Public Schools system could be next.

The school board recently requested that the fiscal court raise taxes for residents and workers in Fayette County.
