GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- A 17-year-old Flint Township boy is facing five felonies and has been charged as an adult for his alleged role in a series of crimes tied to a fire that destroyed a Clayton Township barbecue restaurant.
Prosecutors filed a felony complaint on Tuesday, June 3, charging the teen with arson, home invasion, and three counts of breaking and entering at Homeboy Barbeque on Beecher Road.
It was unclear on Friday, June 6, whether the suspect had been arraigned on the charges in Genesee District Court. MLive-The Flint Journal does not identify suspects by name until they are arraigned before a judge.
Township police took the Homeboy suspect into custody within 24 hours of the May 6 blaze that firefighters from seven departments responded to.
