CANTON, Conn — Damp, cool weather greeted Jon Warner for the start of his 38th summer season as the owner of Collinsville Canoe & Kayak. Memorial Day weekend wasn’t optimal for visitors and rentals at the picturesque shop that sits on the banks of the Farmington River, but this week, a warm run of weather looks to be a welcome change.

“The season is right, it’s warming up, the water is getting warm and it’s really nice out,” Warner said. “We have people doing lesson sign-ups, people are ready to go, we just need to have a consistent good weather outlook for the next week.”
