MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A federal jury convicted a high-ranking member of a Memphis street gang for his role in the death of a retaliation killing after the gang's leader was killed.
Vincent Grant, 41, of Memphis, also known as “V-Slash,” was convicted on a charge of causing death by use of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, that being murder in aid of racketeering.
Prosecutors with the U.S. District Attorney's Office for the Western District of Tennessee say Grant was a high-ranking member of the Unknown Vice Lords, also known as The Ghost Mob, a criminal enterprise that controlled territory in Memphis and beyond.
