AUBURN, Maine — Constituents in Maine’s District 90 are making their voices heard over state Rep. Laurel Libby's controversy and legal battle.
The Republican lawmaker, who represents Minot and part of Auburn, has come under fire in recent months for a viral social media post targeting a transgender high school athlete.
That post led to an official censure by the Maine House of Representatives , stripping Libby of her ability to vote or speak on the House floor—a move rarely taken in state politics.
The U.S. Supreme Court has since stepped in and is allowing her to only vote until her legal challenge to the censure is resolved. An apology would lift the censure, but Libby has refused to do that.
But how do the people she represents feel about all this?
