There’s a flood watch in effect until midnight for several counties in New York’s Southern Tier and Mid-Hudson regions! In these areas, expect anywhere from about half an inch to over an inch and a half of rain, with the heaviest downpours coming in the afternoon and early evening. This heavy rain means roads could get very dangerous due to the risk of flash floods. It’s especially important to remember not to drive through flooded roadways because even a little standing water can hide deeper, faster flows and other hazards like chemicals or debris.
