URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) -- The man accused of stabbing an eight-year-old child during a domestic violence incident was ordered to be detained on Friday, keeping him in custody as his case proceeds.

Henry Carr, 25, appeared personally in the courtroom of Brett Olmstead on Friday for his second appearance before the judge. He was arraigned on Thursday, but the subject of his pretrial detention was continued to the following day. Olmstead heard arguments on why Carr should be detained and why he shouldn't.
