SALINE COUNTY — Formal charges are filed against a Nelson motorcyclist for allegedly leading a pursuit from Saline to Pettis County early yesterday (Thurs) morning.
In a probable cause statement the Missouri State Highway Patrol accuses Tyler E. Girard, 29, of fleeing when a trooper tried to stop him for speeding in Saline County shortly after 12:30 a.m.
During the pursuit, he reportedly ran a stop sign and drove in a careless and imprudent manner. After he was stopped in Pettis County it was determined he had a pipe with drug residue, no motorcycle endorsement or insurance. Girard is charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting by fleeing, misdemeanor speeding and paraphernalia possession.
