(WJET/WFXP) – A Crawford County road is closing for construction next week.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be replacing the roadway pipe on Rockdale Road at the border of Bloomfield and Rockdale townships in Crawford County.
PennDOT employees and Allison Park Contractors are replacing the current metal pipe, which is over 35 years old and in poor condition. They will also be doing some milling, paving and shoulder backup.
The work is expected to start on Monday, June 9, and continue until the middle of July, weather permitting.
Brown Hill Road, Shreve Ridge Road and Old Meadville Road will be used for detours.
The state is paying Allison Park Contractors $339,000 to work on this project and Fry Road this summer.
