SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts came together Friday to make a sweet donation to the Barnes Air National Guard and the USO.

More than 1,700 scouts sold nearly 14,000 boxes of cookies, so they could go to military members who are currently serving. In addition to helping our service members, the donation shows scouts that they’re active members of the community and are able to make a positive change.

“Every scout, every person can make an impact in their own way and it’s just a matter of fact of like how much work you put into it cuz that’s what counts and the impact is already impacted because a lot of cookies are going to the military,” said Girl Scouts ambassador Shaylynne Rappazini
