AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Enjoy free fishing in Texas and New Mexico this weekend.

State parks and wildlife departments allow anyone to fish without a license to promote getting outside, enjoying nature and allow first-timers to try fishing.

Fish public waterways across Texas this Saturday, June 7.

The one day event is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in June for Texans and out-of-state visitors.

“Free Fishing Day is an annual event that encourages Texans to get outdoors, enjoy nature, and go fishing with family and friends.
