(FOX40.COM) — A key witness took the stand Friday in the murder trial of Daniel Serafini, who is accused of fatally shooting his father-in-law and critically injuring his mother-in-law in Lake Tahoe in 2021.
Serafini's alleged accomplice, Samanth Scott, first answered basic questions about herself and her relationship with the family before delivering critical testimony about the events of June 5, 2021.
Scott identified herself on surveillance videos from a hotel in Reno, where investigators say she and Serafini were seen prior to the shooting.
She described a mostly silent car ride from Reno to the Lake Tahoe area.
Scott said that at one point, Serafini pulled a gun from a bag and fired it into sand hills because he "wanted to make sure it worked." She said the gun had a white PVC att
