(WXIN/WTTV) — An Indianapolis man now faces up to 12 years in prison after being convicted by a Johnson County jury of child solicitation.

Oluwaseyanu Akinola Afolabi, 26, was found guilty of the level 4 felony charge and misdemeanor marijuana possession on Thursday, according to Johnson County Prosecutor Lance Hamner. The charges stem from an undercover child solicitation investigation by several local agencies.

Afolabi was arrested in April 2023 after reportedly messaging a girl he thought was 15 years old and soliciting her for sex acts. Police say Afolabi traveled from the Castleton area down to Johnson County to meet up with the "girl," only to find police officers waiting for him.
