GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Sharks - they’ve outlived the dinosaurs through five global extinctions, surviving more than 450 million years. Adapting as the world changed around them, these ocean predators have stood the test of time, but modern problems threaten shark populations now, and humans are largely to blame.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is unveiling its newest exhibit, SHARKS, this weekend. On loan from the Australian Museum, SHARKS aims to teach museum visitors more about these ancient creatures, their importance to cultures and ecosystems across the world, and how we can help them to thrive.
