COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV)—On Friday afternoon, Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade said he had been discharged from the hospital after a two-night stay.

Mobolade said he was at UCHealth Memorial Hospital recovering from double pneumonia. He said that while recovering in the hospital, a significant artery blockage was discovered.

He said he had no symptoms for the blockage, and if it wasn’t for the pneumonia, the blockage wouldn’t have been caught.

Mobolade shared that the artery blockage was cleared through a minimally invasive procedure on Wednesday morning.

According to Mobolade, he has scheduled follow-up evaluations to watch his health as he completes his recovery.

Following his discharge, Mobolade shared a statement with the community.
