DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) — One of Danville's oldest parks is about to get a major facelift, thanks to a hefty grant and some local funding. Pumpkin Creek Park, a 34-acre space that has long been underutilized, is on track for a $1.8 million renovation.
Sam Howarth, a planner with Danville Parks and Recreation, said, "This park hasn't gotten the attention it needs." He added, "This park serves several different neighborhoods within walking distance, so this park is really vital to this community."
