LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Louisville Metro Police Department participated in the Nationwide ORC Blitz on May 30th and 31st.

The operation was done in coordination with over 100 law enforcement and retail partners across the country. LMPD stated officers and detectives executed a zero-tolerance initiative that targeted Organized Retail Crime (ORC) and shoplifting.

With the support of area Loss Prevention teams, LMPD’s 7th Division’s efforts over the two days led to 83 arrests, the recovery of $8,092 in physical merchandise, and the initiation of $51,000 in restitution, bringing the total value of losses rectified or pending restitution to $59,092.
