TAYLORSVILLE, Utah – The step up in competition from high school to junior college didn’t slow down budding softball superstar Ellie Pond as a freshman with Salt Lake Community College .

The former Ridgeline Riverhawk led the Bruins in every major offensive category except triples, pacing a Bruins offense that averaged more than eight runs per game.

Already the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Pond was named to the NJCAA All-America second-team on Thursday, June 5.

Pond’s excellent eye at the plate allowed her to post a 2:1 walk-to-strikeout ratio, forcing pitchers to challenge her potent bat.
