KEWANEE, Ill. (WMBD) -- The death of a missing Kewanee man who was found last week is now being investigated as a homicide.
Catrelle Reed, 39, had been missing since May 22. His body was found on May 30 in the rural area west of Kewanee.
The Illinois State Police said on Friday they are seeking information from the public regarding his death after a June 2 autopsy revealed the Reed's cause of death was homicide.
His body was found on a property near the intersection of Highway 81 and East 2350th Street. At the time, the body was in such a condition where a positive identification could not be confirmed.
The investigation into the circumstances of Reed’s disappearance and death remains ongoing.
