FORT SMITH, Ark. (KATV) — Motorists planning to travel along Highway 96 should prepare for some brief interruptions, which will result in temporary halts in traffic.
The stretch between South Boundary Road and Fort Smith Boulevard will experience closures in 15-minute increments from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Saturday, June 7.
According to a release, the stops will be made to accommodate artillery training exercises conducted by the United States Air National Guard (USANG).
The force's units are set to be stationed at the Fort Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center.
To ensure public safety and manage the closures, Fort Chaffee Police will be stationed at each traffic control point.
