BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) - ‘Veteran Stand Down’ first started as a way to provide food and resources to homeless veterans.
But it’s expanded ever since as a grassroots movement to support all veterans.
Friday, Berrien County had its 3rd annual Stand Down with over 50 vendors!
The event serves those who serve.
It’s a reminder of all the resources that are available to veterans.
From military surplus, to shoes, and even a hot meal!
“So, our stands are designed to rebuild that sense of community when you’re in the military you have somebody telling you where to go when you be there what’s that you lose all of that camaraderie when you leave so this is a chance to come together and reestablish that,” said Maureen Adams, the director of Veteran Services Berrien County.
