MANCHESTER, Conn. (WFSB) - A Manchester police K9 successfully located a suspect in an assault investigation.

This afternoon, Manchester police responded to the Travelodge on the Hartford Turnpike for an active assault involving a hatchet.

Vernon police also responded to assist in the investigation.

Police say the fled on foot into the woods.

Drones and K9 Dakota were deployed to search for the suspect.

K9 Dakota successfully located and apprehended the suspect who is now in custody.
