AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - On Friday evening, Veterans and community members honored D-Day with a veterans rally in North Augusta.

Community members marched, had a wreath-laying ceremony and a sign-waving in support of veterans at the Wade Hampton Veterans Park.

Organizers say they are also fighting for their rights as veterans.

Name released for person found buried under 15th Street bridge

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the person’s body who was found in a shallow grave near the 15th Street bridge near Riverwatch Parkway.

“Marching for D-Day, we are marching to claim our rights as veterans. There are so many things being cut right now that we are marching and fighting for,” said Zee Cook, lead organizer for 5051 Veterans, 5051 Augusta.
