BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A woman accused of driving an SUV onto a yard and intentionally trying to run people down has been ordered to stand trial on seven felony counts, including three counts of attempted murder.

A judge on Friday found there was sufficient evidence for the case against 27-year-old Nia McKnight to proceed, according to court records.

McKnight, who was pregnant at the time of the August 2024 incident, is due back in court next month for a hearing at which a trial date will be set.

According to court documents, McKnight drove an SUV to her sister’s home on the afternoon of Aug. 13, intending to fight her for remarks she’d made about their mother.

McKnight told investigators she got out and confronted her sister, at which point another relative hit her.
