ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Velda City will have a new department policing its streets starting Friday.

According to the Pagedale Police Department, the Pagedale Board of Aldermen and the Velda City Board of Aldermen agreed Friday to end the contract agreement for policing services from Pagedale.

The North County Police Cooperative will be taking over policing responsibilities for the city.

Pagedale police had served in Velda City since March 2024, after the entire Velda City police force resigned .
