Several members of the Proud Boys are suing the U.S. government for over $100 million in response to their federal prosecutions and convictions following the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol Complex.
In a 28-page lawsuit filed in the Middle District of Florida, the plaintiffs, led by Enrique Tarrio , allege the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI committed “multiple violations of their constitutional rights” by way of a “political prosecution” over their “alleged participation in the planning of the events of January 6, 2021.”
