COOPER COUNTY, Mo - A Jamestown man is behind bars on a drug trafficking charge in Cooper County.

According to a probable cause statement, Cooper County Deputies stopped 44-year-old Jason Michael Cherry early this morning for driving while suspended. Due to Cherry having prior drug arrests in Cooper and Montgomery counties, a search of his vehicle was conducted. Both a large bag and a small container of methamphetamine were recovered, along with a scale with white residue on it. The total weight of the meth was 60 grams.

Cherry was arrested on a felony charge of second-degree drug trafficking and a misdemeanor of driving while suspended. He is being held in the Cooper County Detention Center on a $200,000 surety bond.
