NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Flights are facing major impacts due to weather at John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark Liberty International Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Association.

A ground stop was issued but later lifted at JFK Airport due to thunderstorms, the FAA's website shows. Delays were up to at least two hours at JFK and LaGuardia Airports and an hour and a half at Newark Airport, the site reads.

A social media post from LaGuardia Airport alerted travelers of flight disruptions due to the weather and warned them to check with their airlines to determine the status of their flights.
