BED-STUY, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- On Friday morning, the energy in the classrooms at the Bedford Stuyvesant Early Childhood Development Center (BSECDC) was electric.

A group of two- to four-year-olds gathered around Marissa Shorenstein, BSE Global’s Chief External Affairs Officer, as they eagerly picked out their favorite books for her to read first.

The special visit was part of BSE Global’s Read Across Brooklyn initiative, presented by Qatar Airways. The program brings volunteers from the Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center, and the WNBA champion New York Liberty into classrooms across the borough to spark a love of reading and connect with Brooklyn’s youngest learners.
