EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) -- The Evansville Trails Coalition is looking to connect trails all across Southern Indiana.
"The connectivity really just helps our community members have a sense of security, accessibility is built into that, it's dedicated so people feel safe,” Executive Director of the Evansville Trails Coalition Lorie Van Hook said. “It just makes sense, if we as individuals didn't want to own a car we need the build in environment to showcase that and allow us to get where we need to go safely."
Van Hook says the first phase of the project includes connecting the USI trail systems to other regional trails connecting Angel Mounds to Newburgh trails and Lincoln Avenue corridor improvements. That first phase is estimated to cost around $7,000,000.
