WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has updated its construction plans for Interstate 135 in north Wichita, scaling back a full weekend closure that was originally scheduled.
Southbound I-135 will still close this weekend for pavement patching and barrier wall adjustments, but northbound lanes will remain open — a change from earlier announcements.
The updated plan means that starting at 5 a.m. Saturday, June 7, southbound I-135 will close from the K-254 interchange to just past the K-96 interchange. Several ramps will also be closed, including: • Westbound K-96 to southbound I-135 • K-254 to southbound I-135 • The loop ramp from southbound I-235 to North Broadway
All affected lanes and ramps are expected to reopen by Sunday afternoon, June 8.
