LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville children are eligible to receive free meals all summer long through a Jefferson County Public Schools program.
The district is providing breakfast and lunch at 119 sites across Jefferson County at schools, parks and other community locations. In total, JCPS expects to serve more than 200,000 meals.
It will be offered through July 25, Monday through Friday. No meals will be served on Juneteenth or the Fourth of July.
“Knowing that they can come here and get a free hot meal, that means a lot to me,” said Whitney Hodge, principal of Carter Traditional Elementary. “They know that they get to come; they feel loved, they’re greeted, they have fun and they’re fed.”
