COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — A teen has been arrested in connection with a string of car break-ins in the Columbia area.

According to the Columbia Police Department, multiple vehicles were broken into from May 28 to June 1 in near Garners Ferry Road and Interstate 77, the Harbison area, and North Columbia in the Candi Lane/River Drive areas.

Investigators with the CPD Property Crimes Unit have arrested a 15-year-old male from Charlotte, NC, in connection with these break-ins, while additional arrests of co-defendants are pending.

The suspect is accused of breaking into vehicles at hotels and stealing valuable items, including jewelry, debit cards, firearms, and sunglasses. CPD investigators continue to determine the identities of the teen’s co-conspirators.
