COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Nearly $23.7 million has been earmarked to enhance broadband access across Ohio, according to a Friday announcement from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and representatives from BroadbandOhio.

The funding aims to reimburse internet service providers (ISPs) for infrastructure costs through the Broadband Pole Replacement and Undergrounding Program, impacting 23 counties.

"Every Ohioan deserves access to affordable high-speed internet, no matter where they live," DeWine said in a Friday press release. "By supporting infrastructure investments, we’re opening doors for more communities to connect, grow and thrive."
