EVANS, GA (WJBF)- Greenbrier High School alum and former South Carolina Gamecock baseball player Nolan Belcher is now the new head coach of the North Georgia baseball program.

Belcher spent the last five seasons as the head coach at Georgia College and State University, leading his team to four winning seasons, plus a NCAA Southeast Super Regional.

He was a star pitcher for the South Carolina Gamecocks, winning back-to-back national championships in 2010 and 2011. He takes over a North Georgia program that's won 41 games this past season, plus a Peach Belt Conference regular season title. He's now looking forward to this new chapter in his coaching career.
