The Boston Licensing Board yesterday approved plans by Maple & Ash, a Chicago-based steak place, to ease the Seaport's critical high-end steak shortage with an outlet at 131 Seaport Blvd, that would have 140 indoor seats and 56 seats on a glass-enclosed second-floor patio - and a legal closing time of 2 a.m., 11 p.m. on the patio.
Maple & Ash plans to use a liquor license it hopes to buy from the defunct Blue Dragon on A Street in Fort Point.
The board conditioned its approval of the patio on the restaurant coming to an agreement with the owners of residential condos in the building it wants to go into on what it's hours can be, after one resident said the building's condo docs already limit patio closing times to 10 p.m.
