SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Today people all across the country are recognizing national gun violence awareness day, including in Savannah.

Local organizations hosted the 11th annual End the Cycle, Stop Gun Violence event.

While the event happens every year, this year many leaders and non-profit organizations are advocating for a grieving community.

Two children in Bulloch County recently lost their lives to gun violence.

Children and speakers did call and response exercises as officials taught them about what they should do if they see a gun.
