Giant Eagle announced Friday that 17 Rite Aid locations will close in the next week and transfer customers’ prescriptions to Giant Eagle pharmacies.
Those 17 locations are in addition to the 30 Rite Aid pharmacies that have already closed and transferred prescriptions to Giant Eagle — one in May and 29 earlier this month. In total, Giant Eagle is expecting to receive prescriptions from 78 locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio as a result of Rite Aid’s bankruptcy filing.
